Cyant's Lab™

New editing tools and creating... from the heart! :)

IMG_1002.jpg

Cyant’s Lab™ editing tools menu, and your ability to create new unique 3D designs with the app, got expanded earlier this month! The menu was updated to include a scale tool and a rotate tool, which you can use on any individual element from your 3D drawings. As with our other 3D drawing editing tools, you can simply tap on the elements you wish to edit, and the editing tools menu will appear. You can then select the rotate or scale tools to change the orientation or size of the selected elements.

To see the new tools in action, let’s create… from the heart! Here is a quick tutorial video which will show how you can create, in a few steps, a unique 3D flower from a single heart you have 3D drawn.

Happy creating!

Editing your 3D drawings in Cyant's Lab™

IMG_0958.PNG

In the past few months, we’ve been adding new editing tools in the latest versions of our iPad app Cyant’s Lab™. Whether it is to copy a full 3D drawing, or just an individual segment, or move existing segments to a more suitable location, or deleting segments that are no longer relevant, those tools make it easy for Cyantists of all ages to edit their 3D drawings and use them as basis for new creations!

You will find them in the Portfolio area (copy an entire existing creation), or in the 3D sketchpad. In the 3D sketchpad, you can select (and unselect) an individual segment by tapping on it to edit it. Below is a video that demonstrates how easy it is!

Stay tuned for more in coming months! Happy creating!

New Space and Animals 3D drawing templates in Cyant's Lab™!

Untitled design(50).png

Whatever the future of Space Exploration is, 3D printing will be and is already part of it. It will in fact most likely be key to it. Given this, and in the heel of great space news in recent weeks, as well as February’s #3dtalk on aerospace and 3d printing, we could not resist adding a new set of 3d drawing templates focused on space to our iPad app Cyant’s Lab™! We hope this set will tickle the imagination of cyantists of all ages, and inspire them, as 3D printed rockets, rovers and more become part of reality.

And with Earth Day less than two weeks away, we are thrilled to have new “Animals” templates ready to 3D draw and 3D print in our Cyant’s Lab™ too! We hope they will inspire many creations as well as help bring discussions and education around vulnerable species! There are in fact a few vulnerable species represented across all our templates... Can you find them all? :)

New Ruler Tool In Cyant's Lab™!

Untitled design(43).png

A ruler is part of an engineer’s, a school kid’s, a designer‘s and an artist ‘s toolkit, even a 3D one! So we’ve added a new ruler tool to our iPad app Cyant’s Lab to make it easier for Cyantists of all ages to 3D draw straight lines in the app digitally.

Untitled design(44).png

Of course you can still use a physical ruler and an apple pencil too if you have one. :)

Digital or physical, you choose! What will you create? :)

Bringing On Paper Sketches & Photo Inspo To 3D life With Cyant's Lab™ 1.6.0

DrawingUseYourPhoto-IGPost-01-14.png

“Pen and paper” never gets old, and neither does photography! We for one love to see creativity and drawing on all types of media from paper to digital. And to help bring “on paper” sketches, writings, kids drawings (anime and video games’ ones too! ;)),… to 3D life and 3D print them, a new version of our iPad app Cyant’s Lab™ is available on the App Store: cyantists of all ages can now use a photo from their library as a template and/or inspiration for their 3D drawing!

What will you create? :) ✍️

New Ocean Templates Available On Cyant's Lab™

Untitled design(8).png

June 8th was World Ocean's Day and we were excited to make new templates that feature marine life available in our iPad app Cyant's Lab™ that day! Kids of all ages can already 3D draw and obtain 3D prints of four faves, and we'll add more this month and in coming weeks too!

Our oceans are under enormous stress but 3D printing has a significant potential to help keeping our oceans healthier by ushering in more sustainable design and production methods, new business model around a circular economy, new environmentally conscious materials, and even helping ailing creatures and inhabitats with prosthesis.!

We are truly excited for this potential!

Introducing Cyant's Lab™ To The Sculpteo Community

CyantsLabCreate.png

We developed Cyant's Lab™ to make 3Dmodeling and 3Dprinting accessible, so that kids of all ages could learn about 3D technologies, and easily create and print in 3D. Since not everyone has a 3D Printer, we wanted to make sure that models could be ordered from a 3D Printing service directly in the app.

We turned to Sculpteo, a leading additive manufacturing service bureau, so that anyone who ordered one of their creations via our app could have a streamlined order experience and receive a great print with professional finish and quality. And orders will be delivered within a very rapid timeframe too!

We had the opportunity to discuss with Amandine Richardot, Community Manager at Sculpteo and introduce Cyant's Lab™to the Sculpteo community.  Check out the post on Sculpteo's blog, where we discuss our product, working with Sculpteo, using 3D printing, education and more!
